Meet our founder

Jeannette Valdez Duran

From 2006 to 2009, Jeannette lived on the streets of North Austin. One act of kindness from a store manager changed her path.

In 2009 she put a “free food” sign in her front yard. Neighbors came, and they kept coming. Today she pays that kindness forward every week.

“When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.”
